Just found this option in the Google Toolbar.... it's getting easier and easier isn't it?

Requirements for Service Oriented Architectures

It looks like I'm mixing my requirements and design concepts, but I think that's a lot to be said for capturing requirements based on service oriented architectures. As we move towards a portfolio-based IT delivery model, as opposed to an application-specific model, service oriented models become more important.

I use the term SOA as it is more of a buzzword, but I really mean service oriented models. Anyway, there's an article on RationalEdge that discusses this - check out

Open Source and others

Came across an article, could've been IBM, on open source and how this could represent the future of IT.... Open source but its nature, relies on user participation to make it work. This same participation could provide the necessary impetus to ensure that knowledge management sites within large corporates work! This could extend to wikis, blogs, forums, etc - anything that requires a community concept and lots of user participation for it to work.

Looks like this may be the direction forward, and large IT corporates would be well advised to start investigating this area.
